These are Confrontation models from Rackham. Orc Brutes, to be precise. Insanely detailed and extreme fun to paint. I mean, chicken legs and fish on the belt, metal plates nailed into skin?! That was fun.

The paint jobs rock, but can I ask a question? Is the word "skeleton" really necessary on the base?

That, and the skeleton leaning on his halberd looks vaguely like he's pole dancing.

Thanks, guys. I thrive in painting these days, as in I'm having more fun painting than even sleeping.

HQE, I love the fact that one female skeleton was a poleaxe dancer in her pre-undeath. She's clearly a girl, you mysoginistic nerd fanboy, you. See how awkwardly that other one is trying to poke with her spear? Girl.

As for the individualization on the bases, yes, necessary.
Firstly because I play with a sheet for monsters (or rather villains, as I call them) to keep track of stats,
and secondly, because I write my rulebook with the main goal in mind that no rule is ever ambiguous. Linguistically sound. To denote which kind of villain you see is an important factor (though not as important as the numbering, I'll give you that), especially when I take into account future quest packs. WYSIWYG.

But one day, when my freehand is calmer, there's gonna be icons instead of full nomenclature. One day...

Sorry, let me rephrase...

*ahem*

The skeleton leaning on HER halberd looks vaguely like SHE'S pole dancing.

Happy?

Knightcrawler, I'm trying to see what you have done to the eye sockets of those skeletons to make the OSL look so radiant. Is that all lighting when you take the pictures or did you enhance the picture in some way? Because it really looks like the sockets glow.

Wow, my pictures used to be bad...
But the eyes look pretty well presented.

I used Formula P3 Arcane Blue as a base. Thick into the sockets, two or three times, letting it dry in between. Then thin around the bone outside the sockets where I wanted the indirect glow.
Then I think I glazed over the outside with some Guilliman Blue Glaze from Citadel. The I went in again with thin Arcane Blue, and while that was still wet, I dropped in pure white, but rather thickly so that the center of the white doesn't mix into the blue as does the outside.

I have to post some more pictures here when I find the time. They are better now, the pics. For those who find the time, I have a gallery thread on yeoldeinn that I update more often.
