My build of Dungeon Crawl
08/07/12 at 10:23am

Nalomi's Workshop had a 50% off sale a while back and I couldn't resist this water cavern set:
http://www.nalsworkshop.com/water-cavern-set-p-237.html
Since I have absolutely no need for a water cavern set, I repurposed it into blank Dungeon Crawl tiles that I can place the wall pieces on to build the tiles from the game.  Nothing against paper minis, they're just not for me (I'm too heavy handed).
Since the cavern set has limited dungeon decor, I have to use barrels and crates in place of shelves and cabinets, but that's a small concession for such an awesome game.

I made up a set of dungeon tile cards so I can draw for random dungeons (I play lord-less).
Also, I had to build the tiles 10"x10" in order to accommodate the 1" wall pieces and still make the rooms the right size.  Sometimes I end up having an extra row of squares here and there, but I find it plays the same.

Just wanted to share that with you guys.  Keep up the good work, Alex!

Hey that's really cool!  Took me a second, but I recognized the tiles.  Awesome!

As far as the paper minis go, I also prefer real miniatures.  But since I don't have the money to produce real ones, I include the paper ones just so the game is still a complete package.

Thanks for posting!

Nal's Workshop has sales throughout the year, so just check the site once in a while.   Also, there are dungeon decor casts for only $3 each.  I want to get some 2" tables, an alter and coffins...spooooooky.

http://www.hirstarts.com/ sells the molds.

I can't think of the web address right now, but there is a smaller scale dungeon (15 mm, I think) available from the UK.  Just the casts, though, not the molds.

Iron ring games had a Kickstarter called labyrints and made terrain like this for hirst molds. My pledge could be here any moment and i'll use it for DC.
