Atlantian Character
06/06/10 at 3:05pm

I was inspired by the miniature from bloodmoonminis (who make great HQ based fimir and orcs) to make the atlantian a character for heroquest

...

he starts with 6 spells, as i deem fair in my bp/mp vs amount of spells balancing act

...

...

...

...

...

...

and i also made 3 peices of equipment for him

...

...

...

and a quest treasure which i made to put into his own 3 part solo adventure, which i have made but is currently just as microsoft publisher files. Im not sure how to save to pdf or find somewhere to upload them, but if anyone wants them pm me your e-mail address. Main bad guys are dark elves, has an interesting story also

...

any comments and suggestions based on the rules, not my crap photoshopping skills, are welcome.

...well, that takes the wind out of my sails.  Wink

Otherwise, looks pretty good.  Not sure how a sea-faring creature is gonna like it out of the water.  Perhaps a good character if one made a special Quest Pack for the character; "The Atlantean Quest Pack", where the first three quests are solos and happen to be under-water (which is a good excuse for going by him/herself) to retrieve an artifact or two that the surface dweller's need to slay a common enemy.  Like a two-handed sword or something that the atlantean character couldn't possibly use himself, but the barbarian would have no problems, etc.  A lost Dwarven artifact that only the dwarf can translate, just got diarhea of the brain here...

The opposition in such a quest pack is so obvious as well: The Cult of Stromfels!

There could even be special objectives in quests where only the atlantian can complete it - he might have to swim a great distance underwater to retrieve something, while the other three heroes battle their way through an army...

Stromfels, the god of wreckers and storms, brother of Mannann.

He's one of the Young Gods, and like Khaine, is evil.

very very sorry for the threadomancy. We have 2 new foster children in our extended family, so the heroquest has been broken out and I got a chance to playtest this character and i thought i would share my opinions.

He didnt do very well in his solo missions. He would probably suffer like the wizard does when facing numerous good combat enemies. His main enemies were dark elves who I think were based on dark warriors so pretty tough. He managed to get through all three but had to leave some loot.

Getting the amulet of manann is very important to this character, as his magic is less offensive and more evasive. He can be useful as part of a team as a support character. Is he as good as the wizard? probably not, but, the wizard has his own problems and bad luck can screw both quick.

His spectral mindripper sounds great, but it doesnt work on undead, and tital wave is spectacularly dissapointing. Unless you happen to enter a room with 15 goblins in, it wont do a lot unless you roll really lucky.

Overall, not great by himself, not overpowered in a team but something new and different to play and nobody should complain about him.
