Alright here are some random figs.
Now take in to account I am by no means a friggin pro so with out further procrastination here are some figs;
Up first the Barbarian.
I tried to capture the main box art paintings on all the figs.
I had to add a silver bracer for the barbarian as the box shows him wearing one.I added black specks to the tunic/fur and a white trim of fur along the bottom edge.

Okay here is my custom beastmaster figure and grizzly bear.
LOL...He is not really that custom I wanted the feel of hero quest so modified a barbarian figure very slightly to fig the look of Marc singers portrayal of Dar from the movie.

Now the grizzly bear up close.
Big thanks to Ogre for the bear fig.(now I just need 2 more for polar bear and black bear)
he is a combo of hero quest yeti body with war bear head.

Hard to really tell everything from the pics, but I like what I can see.

The bear turned out pretty nice, like the heroes, the fimir look really grey, but I think that might just be the photo. the skaven look really nice!

Yeah my picture taking skills suck...LOL
They turned out either way to close and blurry or way to small and blurry.Half with flash half without and they still look the frigging same!?!?!?

I got to figure out a better way of shooting them.
Maybe a light box?
My Camera is kick ass but my skills are not. Then when I cropped them they went all frigging blurry as well...
Glad you liked the Skaven I've got like 35 more to paint...  Angry
Next up is going to be some Mercs the remaining heros and some orcses....In a week or two...  Grin
I still need to decide on what I'm doing for all the bases as well grass or just painted?

For the bases I would paint them up like stone work, if you art just using them for HeroQuest.

I just paint all my bases plain black anymore, because I use my minis as game pieces for all kinds of different games.

Does your camera have a macro setting?  That can make all the difference in miniature photography.

Why yes it does,Macro and super macro.
Damn they look really shiny too and I even used a matte finish?
It's my lighting for sure.
I'll try the macro or super macro next set of figs thanks.

You want to use natural sunlight, or find a way to diffuse your Flash.  When I don't have natural sunlight available I put a while sheet of printer paper in front of the flash.  Enough light gets through, but not so much as to wash the image out with light.

If you use natural sunlight, make sure you have a tripod or a steady surface to put your camera on.  With flash you only need a tiny shutter speed because there's so much light, so it's hard to blur the image due to an unsteady surface.  When not using flash, you need a longer shutter speed in order for the camera to take in the needed amount of light.  Even a little bit of movement during this time will blur the picture.

So best  conditions are natural light, steady surface to shoot from, and yes, Macro mode makes a huge difference.

I really like the way you painted the fimir up.  The skin tone is really good.

Some busted some not so I've done a few customs /mods.

Nice work. It might be your camera and lighting but it does look like you're putting on fairly thick coats of paint. Try putting on several thinner coats instead. That way it's easier to keep what little detail are in those ancient sculpts, and you can pick it out with a quickshader or some washing. And touch up with some highlights.

Either way, the game looks a lot more enticing with painted minis. Smiley

Wow 7 years ago already....lol
Yeah my camera sucked and I also didn't know it had a macro setting back then either.
Paints are layered thinly, coated with a matte finish these photos all look very glossy and blurry. Wink
I'll update these eventually.

You may want to check this out.

https://www.microworldgames.com/

I had previously tried 10mm and 15mm but decided both were not for me. I am currently working with true 25mm miniatures and I like them quite a bit. Just big enough for all the detail I would like but small enough to not need a big space for storage.
