It sounds interesting, but when I go to the link provided in your sig to download the links for the rulebook/questbooks don't work.  The links appear to be pointed toward files on your personal computer as opposed to links to the site, if that makes sense.

OMG! There was an error at my page indeed. I corrected this. All links are functional again. Sorry.  Embarrassed

I added a battle report in the appropriate thread here at the oldscratch forum too.

The rulebook had a slight revision. V1.1 is now available. Enjoy.

I regret not to have any friend who are fond of HQ, because I really love your mecanisms, and trully wish I could test it with any player...

Could I ask you how you managed to produce such beautiful quest maps ? Did you scann the tiles and vectorized it ? I read somewhere that you use Photoshop, but as for the tiles, how did you do ?

I create the maps rather "old school" and archaic. They are scanned, black and white, and digitally cut to smaller pieces. (Corridor, small room, large room, ...)

Then in Photoshop or Art Rage, I just copy the pieces and scale the map afterwards to fit onto the parchment background. It's all manual labour. No vectorized maps...  Embarrassed

I asked because I currently use an excel sheet background, and icons that I had already reworked, but I am a fuckin perfectionnist and find the result to be far less nice than yours.

Now I am trying to vectorize the tiles that were brought by a user here, to come along with the Tilesystem soft, but it is very hard to get nice pics of rooms with minimum detail of the ground, without having dark background that is not very legible. Perhaps should I convert the tiles in black and white before vectorizing...

Anyway your new rules and remix of quests might be nothing but sweet candy to an Evil Master   Cheesy

I would be quite willing to test it but I can't find the Advanced HeroQuest materials anywhere. Once I have that I'll create a campaign in MapTool to test it out.

::EDIT::
Okay, do I actually need any of the rules from Advanced Heroquest or just the tiles? If its just the tiles then I'm good to go because I'll just use my own textures for the campaign.

You only need the 4 Heroes, all board tiles (rooms, corridors, junctions, ...) and the 24 threat tokens from "Advanced HeroQuest".

You need all miniatures from "HeroQuest MB", the dice, all cards, all tiles and the furniture.

You need my PDF rulebook + 1 PDF questbook.

Enjoy!

EDIT: I'll try to put the required components list in the next version of the rulebook.
