Hey Relexx, excellent job on your rules set. Everything looks presentable and well written. Seems to be a traditional dungeon crawler, with sound game mechanics.

Cheers Arcade.  As it happens I have just changed things slightly, I will send you the new copy Smiley

I am changing some of the spells to have variable effects based upon the number of attack succcesses the caster makes.  It is something that was bothering me.  I have also made the shops as tiles, which cleans the rules considerably.

Anyway check your mail Smiley

Well as it happens with play tests ...

Moving the shops to tiles was a great success.  Whoot for me and my play testers.

After changing the spells, which on the whole was a very good thing to do, we have no found some issues with the spells and their game play consequence (mage is almost invincible with just two spells).  So there is going to be some need for adjustment there.

Chip, chip, tink, tink, chip, chip, tink, tink, ... fuck me look at that we almost have a game.

So, had a bash with my brother today, since we finally have had free time at the same time.  Wow, what a difference another perspective makes.

We made some more changes to the mages, and some minor tweeks with the spells.  To top it all off we changed the staff to give bonus defence instead of attack.  After 3 excelent games I think the balance is almost there, mages are now a viable option vs a fighter, and some spell combo's make them possibly tougher.  Also there has been some monster tweeks for the spell casting monsters to make them a little more formidable, and smaller monsters have more places where they can start (ie corridors or rooms, not just rooms).

And possibly the biggest compliment, it could pass as a retail game (with some shit hot artwork, just wish I could do the hot bit, not the shit).

That's awesome, dude.  And yes, having that second perspective is essential.  My Rogues changed a lot because a friend of mine didn't like what the Rogue was about.  I had him more as a treasure finder type of guy, so he kinda felt left out of combat and experience.  Now my Rogues are filthy murderers.  Grin

Oh, also, since I'm kinda on a roll on this, I might be up for doing some art for your game, if you don't mind the style I do it in.  It's not full-on oil painting style like retail games, but if you've seen the cover I did for Dungeon Crawl you get an idea of how I do it.  I'm pretty sure I posted the full-color artwork for it up in the Artwork section of the forums.

Another day of testing with my brother.  One spell tweek and I think we are set.  I have also stripped out some gear and one class to even up numbers and balance.  That being said the class and equipment is planned to be used at a later stage (read: expansion).  He also came up with two other classes a scout and monk, both unique and cool.

The biggest change he has affected is a recalculation of all the monster ranks, where I saw holes before he was able to assist in the calculation of the ranks, meaning that about 1/3 of all the monsters rank increased by 1 or 2, but more importantly we both feel that the rank is justified for each monster now.

On the down side, I might get a job in the next few days, so time may be limited to play test again.

Yeah I know.  It gets in the way of so many creative processes.  Just wish I could earn 100K a year making games.

To small points:
1. At the corners, the inner black boarder is round. You will be cutting the outer silver boarder to be round. You may want to make the inner white boarder round.

2. If you make the card 2.5"x3.5" in size, it will fit card sleeves and allow printing on Artscow, making it easier to fabricate & use. I can't tell what size this is right now, so you may be a step ahead of me.
