A post about Bloodbowl

Have never bothered with this game as I don't care much for Gridiron (US Footy). I've only seen one or two battle reports in White Dwarf many moons ago. Besides Old Scratch having an affinity with the game, how many others have played it?

My brother in law says he likes it...I was not interested till they released an Ogre team...

BUT my biggest problem is I like my miniatures to be usuable in more then just one setting. a warrior in a football helmet is not gonna get much Warhammer or HeroQuest play...My miniatures are primarily for HeroQuest and Dungeon Crawling. and then for Skirmish games and then for Mass batle games. all fantasy. all 28mm...I'm a stickler Tongue

I'm not much of a fan of American Football, let alone sports.  I picked up this game on a whim, and it's seriously one of the funner miniatures games we've ever played.  If you know someone that has it, I suggest giving it a try.  It's a real cool game.

Soccer is only one of many games we play that others call football. We have Rugby League, Rugby Union (both similar to Gridiron but without padding cause we're not pansies  Grin ), and Aussie Rules (best football game in the world  8) ).
Gridiron just seems like a lot of stopping and starting with some really wild tackles thrown in to keep people watching  Smiley

Ah, yes, Rugby, where a group of society boys join the club to prove their manhood to the young women. I played rubgy all my youth in my backyard games with my brother and friends. We played without helmets and pads. There is quite a difference when you put on those pads. But having never been around football, I can understand your misgivings.  Kiss

Sure, whenever anyone wants to get off their asses and play me.  You gotta understand that I only play any given game about once a month, if I'm lucky.

So you don't happen to have an old one lying around in memory somewhere from when you actually played a game.?

Next time you play a game, take a few pics. Doing our own battle reports and posting will be cool. If cyber ever makes it back to Adelaide, we'll do one like that.

Anyone interested in BB (bloodbowl) in the US can pick up a cheap copy from newwave games. I picked mine up from ebay for like $20 plus the LTd ed. Dark elf standard bearer for $7 and $8 s&H so total was $35.

Please pardon the bragging... but if you're interested check new wave out.

Though I'm not sure if the internet restriction has come into play here.

Remember when I made that post titled "What the FUCK?"  Well what pissed me off most about Games Workshop bending the internet over is that I couldn't get Blood Bowl for 25 bucks anymore.

Yeah, I understand, but remember that doesn't apply to phone orders and eBay is not affected by this policy.
I Know it's still a pain but I figured you  might still be interested. Besides I think more retailers will now be willing to get a piece of the Ebay pie. Grin

You just better hope and pray that they are able to fill your order entirely considering you'd have to pay long distance to call them as it's not a toll free call, unless I'm mistaken.

Previous experiences I've had with them:
They didn't fill the entire order and charged you for all of it regardless.
Preorders something and didn't get it until almost 3 to 4 weeks later.

Ok, well I guess I'm done ranting/complaining about the shitty service I've gotten from NewWave.  I'd personally rather pay more and get my order filled properly and mistakes corrected by going through Games Workshop.

How could they not get an order of a single box of Blood Bowl right?  Anyways, the one time I ordered from them I got my whole order in its entirety, and it didn't take very long at all.  But I do hear a lot of bad stuff about NewWave, but really, I'd rather pay 25 bucks for Blood Bowl and deal with a few problems than pay 60 bucks for it.

Ahhhh! the beauty of cell phones and free long distance.

Actually, I called to get a human being on the phone and got an answering machine but if you leave a message I beleive they'll call you back saving you the cost of the call.
